The fear of the Lord
Posted on March 8th, 2025 by Redeemed!Isaiah 11: 3.
and he will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears;
The fear of the Lord helps us do the right thing and will also guide us in decision taking.
One, operating with the Spirit of the fear of the Lord, takes time to process information and not just jump to conclusion about anything they hear or see.
They would want to find out the reason behind the actions, whether it is done with the right motives or not before deciding on the next action.
Any story have two sides to it. Jumping to conclusion with only one version could lead to great error and unintended consequences.
A man or woman presenting a matter always seems right at first until one hears the other side of the story.
The first version would be the version where the narrator tells the version that he or she is blameless and without error. Deferring action until you hear the other version of the matter under contention, ensures fairness and scrutinising what has be said taking into congnisize all the versions of the story.
Scriptures tells us, a leader with the Spirit of the fear of the Lord is blessed indeed, because, he will not judge by sight or by hear say but rather, by substance.
Sight therefore can be deceitful, hearing also can be manipulated. People can tell you what they know you want to hear or what they want you to hear themselves, and arrange for you to see what they want you to see; by so doing, influence your actions and thoughts. But one operating with the Spirit of the fear of the Lord will see past these and deliberately take the necessary steps to find out more with the aim of knowing the truth about a matter before taking action.
Scriptures tells us that Jesus as the judge is full of the Spirit of the Lord.
He had to be for Him to render fair judgement.
and he will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. Isaiah 11: 3 - 4.
When He judges, it is based on substance, for he can discern the intentions of the heart - the real reason/s or motives behind the actions.
What we see and hear can be very deceitful because they can be influenced by man.
Anybody can create what they want you to see at a particular time and also ensures you hear what they need you to hear based on their own motives.
This is the reason why, we must pray especially for those in positions of authority and have great influence on people, nations and can influence event to be filled with the Spirit of the fear of the Lord.
It is so important for them not to act based on what they hear and see but rather to take the due deligence necessary especially on matters that could result to grevious or great consequences.
On individual bases, we also need the Spirit of the fear of the Lord to guide us in our actions and utterance so we can live at peace with others and have a saner society.
God bless.
Peace.
