He who sees beyond the actions

He who sees beyond the actions

Posted on May 18th, 2026 by Redeemed

And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me and told me to declare that this is what the LORD says: “That is what you are thinking, O house of Israel; and I know the thoughts that arise in your minds.

   - Ezekiel 11:5 BSB

The ways of God are indeed mysterious, and they are too high and too deep for us to understand.

He knows what transpired behind every action or deed. He sees what happened and who it is that is influencing or had influenced far reaching decisions affecting His people.

Nothing takes Him unaware and when He judges, His judgement is very fair because He sees what man cannot see.

The hidden details, the secret meetings and advice, the manoeuvring and the scheming not visible to onlookers, but visible as daylight to God; He sees them all.

The LORD took Ezekiel in the Spirit to witness the meeting that took place at the gate of the LORD’S house. The description was very vivid - it was the gate facing east.

What God said about these men was alarming. They were those who not just gave advice that would affect the lives of the people, but they gave wicked advice that brought pain on the people.

Their advice was centred on what they would gain and not what would benefit the people's well being.

And the LORD said to me, “Son of man, these are the men who plot evil and give wicked counsel in this city.

  - Ezekiel 11:2

Some of the names mentioned amongst these evil advisers were leaders of the people who ought to know better.

As Ezekiel began to prophesy as commanded by God, one of the chief amongst them, a leader of the people named Pelatiah died!

The Word of the LORD which is also called the Sword of the Spirit judged him instantly.

People do a lot of dangerous things, not careful or mindful of the consequences or the danger their actions could bring on them.

They see only the immediate gains, and are blind to the facts that there may be serious consequences that could prevent them from accessing even what they thought they would gain.

For Pelatiah, it was the end of the road for him; his judgement had come and mercy was no longer available for him, for the Word of the LORD judged him..

Just the word of prophesy from the mouth of prophet Ezekiel as commanded by God brought about his end!

He became one of the first beneficiary of his own evil advice.

The LORD is not a man, He is a just God, who is not interested in inflicting pains on people but would render to every man according to how their works deserves. He sees what goes on and would act according to His will and purpose.

The advice of Pelatiah and his group brought pains and death to the people and as Pelatiah fell died, Ezekiel knew judgement had begun. He knew if he didn't act, more death would follow, and so he acted quickly by way of intercession, falling down before the LORD praying for mercy on behalf of the rest of them, which stayed the judgement.

Lets be careful in our dealings, for the One who sees beyond the action has not changed. Render to each one what is justly theirs and who knows, you may just be saving your very own life.

God bless.

Peace!
