The Mystery of dying

The Mystery of dying

Posted on November 19th, 2022 by Redeemed

John 12:24 AMP

I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone [just one grain, never more]. But if it dies, it produces much grain and yields a harvest.

The ways of the Lord are too wonderful for our canal minds to understand. We need Faith to walk with God.

Death is something the flesh dread, for in death the flesh is silenced and it’s desires and control over man ceases for the spirit of man to thrive. The spirit cannot thrive when the flesh is in control, and Jesus Christ gave us a key to great success. The flesh has to die for the spirit to thrive. God’s Spirit dwells and communicate with the spirit of man, and so if our flesh is in control, it hinders the working of the Spirit of God.

So Jesus communicates in the above verse that we will only be fruitful if we allow the Spirit of God have His way in our spirit man by letting go, and allowing God. This is what dying is - letting go and allowing God.

As many that worked successfully with God, they had to let go and let God. Without this, we will struggle through life.

The LORD told Abram to let go his family and everything he had, his dreams and everything to a land he knew nothing about. Abram had to walk by faith, left his father’s house, and everything that was dear to him. He had to be bare, stripped of everything so that when the blessings starts coming later, he could say, God has indeed blessed me and has made me a blessing to others.

The great test came for Abraham, for God has to change not only his location and that of his family, He also changed his name to Abraham and his wife’s name to Sarah - aligning him to what He wants to do in their lives; and God had blessed him with a son, Isaac. Abraham’s test was to let go of Isaac!

Genesis 22:2 AMPC

[God] said, Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah; and offer him there as a burnt offering upon one of the mountains of which I will tell you.

Isaac was greatly loved by Abraham and Sarah, and for God to ask him to sacrifice Isaac was too much, but because he loved God, he decided to do just that. It was clear that Abraham died long ago. This kind of death is not one off, it’s an ongoing thing for the believers.

Abraham couldn’t tell Sarah for he knew what that would mean, and so he took his only son and was to sacrifice him when God asked him to stop. God saw the genuine intent of his heart to sacrifice his son - it was all God needed; for the LORD can see and judge the intent of the heart.

Genesis 22:10-12 AMPC

And Abraham stretched forth his hand and took hold of the knife to slay his son. [11] But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, Abraham, Abraham! He answered, Here I am. [12] And He said, Do not lay your hand on the lad or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear and revere God, since you have not held back from Me or begrudged giving Me your son, your only son.

There and then God promised Abraham with an oath to bless him beyond his wildest imagination.

Genesis 22:15-18 AMPC

The Angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time [16] And said, I have sworn by Myself, says the Lord, that since you have done this and have not withheld [from Me] or begrudged [giving Me] your son, your only son, [17] In blessing I will bless you and in multiplying I will multiply your descendants like the stars of the heavens and like the sand on the seashore. And your Seed (Heir) will possess the gate of His enemies, [18] And in your Seed [Christ] shall all the nations of the earth be blessed and [by Him] bless themselves, because you have heard and obeyed My voice.

Walking with God therefore means we have to be childlike in our faith. We must trust and love Him, and believe He cannot harm us in whatever He asked of you.

Jesus telling us that we will only go far if we first of all give up, and let go and let God is the key to growth in the life of a believer. It’s called dying and It’s a very difficult thing to do but if we can just do it, we will experience the Power of our God.

Jesus Himself had to die for Him to be glorified. His own struggle was so intense that Scriptures recorded that he was sweating blood but the moment he died, the glory came!

For he said, as recorded in Scriptures after His death and resurrection;

Matthew 28:18 AMP

Jesus came up and said to them, "All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.

Is God asking you to do something? Please trust Him and you will see the great manifestation of His Power at work! He has good plans for you. Just trust Him.

God bless.

Peace.
