The Presence

Exodus 3:2, 5

2 And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.

 

There is peace and liberty in the Lord.

Moses was drawn to the burning bush because of the great sight unfolding before him - a bush in flames and yet not consumed! As He approached the burning bush the Lord called out to him to alert him to the fact that he was standing on holy ground and to take off his shoes.

Scriptures tell us that the LORD dwells in unapproachable light.

 

1 Timothy 6:16 AMP

He alone possesses immortality [absolute exemption from death] and lives in unapproachable light, whom no man has ever seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal power and dominion! Amen.

 

The bush was on fire and yet not consumed, even so when the Presence of the Lord comes on anyone, you could feel Him like Power or electricity, surging through your body but yet you are not killed. You may be slain in the Spirit depending on the weight of His glory and how much of His Presence is in us. The more the Presence, the more of His glory you can endure without being slained.

At times His Presence is so much that you are afraid you will die but He always knows how much we can withstand.

The Presence of the LORD is the key to great success in ministry and our individual walk in our day to day life.

Jesus puts it like this in John

 

John 15:4 TLB

Take care to live in me, and let me live in you. For a branch can't produce fruit when severed from the vine. Nor can you be fruitful apart from me.

 

As believers, we need to be sensitive to the leading of the Spirit. The world is on a fast pace and there is this lure to move and join the bandwagon. Like Moses said to the Lord, that Isreal would not go where the Lord would not lead, so must we seek and only venture where the Lord leads.

If God is not in it, it won’t last no matter the rosy picture painted. The heart is desperately wicked, who can understand it. We must learn therefore to obey God and dwell in His Presence that it maybe well with us.

Staying Connected to our source, ensures we have the necessary nourishments we need to thrive and be fruitful. Therefore the greatest source of nourishment for us can only come from the one who created us in His image and according to His likeness. Like as the branches bears fruits and lives because it is connected to the Vine, so most we be connected and remain in the Presence of our Creator to be truly successful.

Success has many definition depending on what one believe. But what truly is success?

Jesus said in John 14:27

I give you peace, the kind of peace that only I can give. It isn't like the peace that this world can give. So don't be worried or afraid.

 

When God is involved in our lives, there is peace in our hearts, even in the midst of the storm. His Presence alone is what gives that peace. It cannot be bought nor acquired, rather, it’s a gift that comes from abiding in His Presence or the indwelling of His Spirit in us.

The news these days are filled with all manner of heart breaking occurrences, such that we need to be in tune with His Word concerning the times we are living in. He said these things were going to happen, and we can see them unfolding right before our eyes, but yet we are not careful to do as he has instructed us.

Our peace is in staying obedient to His commands, and then we will abide and continue to abide in His Presence and become very fruitful.

 

John 15:10 NKJV

If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.

 

Abiding in Christ is a deliberate decision we must make everyday since we have the tendency to wander or stray. So Jesus is admonishing us to obey Him so we can continue to abide in His love, just as he is able to abide in the Father's because he has learned obedience as the Son to the Father.

A disobedience child will eventually find his or her way out of the parents house, so it is with our relationship with the Lord. If we continue to stay disobedient to his commands we will eventually be cut off of our source and in no time die off.

 

John 15:6 NKJV

If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

 

The source of all life is God, as recorded in Scriptures. We will live and thrive only if we take care to abide or stay connected to our source. Just as the fish dies if it continues to be outside of the water - an environment created for it to thrive, so mankind creates potentials for self destructive situations because we have nothing restraining us. If we live in obedience to God, it will be doing to others what we would have them do unto us. We will not exploit others or fashion plans to hurt others. The fear of God will be in our heart.
