Moved by love
Posted on July 3rd, 2021 by RedeemedJohn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Matthew 9:36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Love is an action word, moving or prompting the one that is experiencing it to act. People are able to do great things if they have love or passion for their convictions.
Passion is an emotions or rush one experience for something or a person. They are powerful forces that can bring about tremendous happenings or changes as the case maybe. Any task or project engaged in that doesn’t involve our emotions or passion can be very difficult to accomplish. Emotions or passion is the fuel that provides the energy needed to accomplish any worthwhile project or task.
Again it is recorded in Psalms 69:9, for the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me. Again it is recorded in Matthew 14:14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
Jesus was zealous for his father’s house and went about doing what pleases the Father. In other words he was the expression of the Father’s love towards man. Greater love has no man than this that he died for his friend. Jesus kept giving of himself to meet the needs around him. The people were so harassed that he reached out in love to them.
Scriptures tells us that when John the Baptist questioned who Jesus was during his own trial, Jesus told his disciples to tell John in Luke 7:22 what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
No one can do this much if they have no love, otherwise they would burn out. Love therefore is a mighty force that can endure when all else fails. Jesus’ kind of love is so strong that it sees beyond our errors. It sees the man, woman, boy or girl that is entrapped in the bondage of sins; crying out in desperation. Jesus’ respond is that which is laced with compassion, reaching out in love to set the captives free.
It is written in Isaiah 49:25; But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.
The above Scripture is an assurance that God will go all out against any force or power that has held his people captive. God promised to save our children (you can count on His promises), all we need to do is call on Him for help (John 3:16) and you will experience the Powerful working of God in your life. No case is too hopeless for God, His love and compassion overcomes all things - for God requires mercy and not judgement (Matt 9:13).
God’s kind of love is unequalled to any. Throughout the ages, love has held him back from rendering to the world the punishment that it truly deserved. Love makes him give us another chance, another day, perhaps we will turn to Him and be saved. He said in Isaiah 49:15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, these may forget, yet will not I forget thee.
It is evident that no man has the capacity to love the way God does, and that is why Scripture says God is Love itself (1 John 4:8).
What love we experience as human beings is an expression of the fact that we came from Him – created in His image according to His likeness (Gen 1:27). We can choose to be more like Him by loving a bit more than we currently do, taking one step at a time to improve on our loving journey and before long the world will be a better place for all of us. Love indeed covers a multitude of evil.
