The Writing on the wall
Posted on April 9th, 2022 by RedeemedSuddenly a human hand appeared and began writing on the plaster wall of the palace, where the light from the lamps was shining most brightly. And the king saw the hand as it was writing.
Daniel 5 : 5
Lately I have been hearing in my spirit “the writing on the wall”.
I have not taken it seriously until this morning. In my time with the LORD this came so strong and the Scripture for my devotion was “the writing on the wall”.
I hear a warning for those whom it has been given power and authority, to rule over kingdoms and people. Know for sure that whatever you do will be judged.
As I write this, I perceive a great anticipation for something that will determine the course of kingdoms and peoples. I don’t know what it is but I perceive the decisions you make and the actions you take will determine the course of not just your life but that of many. You are about to make history - you alone will determine whether it will be positive or negative.
Know for sure that power and authority comes only from God. His Kingdom is an everlasting one. The day you seize to recognize that God rules over all things, even the affairs of men is the day you chose your fate.
Belshazzar, knew what happened to his father, king Nebuchadnezzar, but still he decided to stretch forth his hands to touch the holy things. God gave his father Nebuchadnezzar, power, over all people and tongues. He decided who lives and who dies. He thought he was powerful due to his own making and then he became arrogant and challenged God, by touching what he ought not to.
Judgement came on him, and the mind of a beast was given him, he was driven from the abode of men.
But the mercies of God ensured his throne was kept for him, until he acknowledges that God rules over the affairs of men.
His throne was restored back to him along with his people when he finally acknowledged that God rules over all things.
His son king Belshazzar knew this, but yet he did what he did.
Daniel 5:2-4
Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein. Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them. They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.
The judgement was instant. A hand was seen writing on the wall what the court of heaven has determined against him. And the writing was found in Daniel 5:24-28. The only person that could read and interpret what was written was the one in whom was the Spirit of the most high, for God had determined so.
And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE ; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. TEKEL ; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. PERES ; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
As I write this I feel a trepidation that I can’t even explain. I know this is for someone, and the LORD will see to it that you read this. Please do not harden your heart, for the LORD is merciful, slow to anger and abounding in love.
Love covers a multitude of all things. May you find God’s love and mercy in place of judgement.
I speak peace to you!
You can accept Jesus right now if you will, by saying this prayer.
Father, in Jesus Christ name I pray.
You said in 1 John 1:9 that if we confess our sins, you are faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
I am sorry and repent of all the sins I have committed. Wash me with the blood of your Son Jesus Christ, and make me whole. Write my name in the book of life and give me the power to live for you.
Thank you Father for it is done. Amen.
