The Lion and the Lamb

The Lion and the Lamb

Posted on September 26th, 2022 by Redeemed

These two Pronouns are very opposite to each other but they truly describe the person of Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the Lion of Judah who is King and Lord. He seeks and protects all the Father has given him. Like a Lion which is mightiest among beasts and turns not back before any is Jesus. Prov 30:30
A lion will not be threatened by the roar of any other animal in the forest but rather it is king of the forest. In thesame vein Jesus is referred to as the King of kings and LORD of lords. He fought and overcame and He said in Matthew 28 verse number 18 after His resurrection from the dead:

Matthew 28:18
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Also in Revelation 19 it was recording concerning Him:

Revelation 19:16
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

He is majestic in glory, and His Kingdom is an everlasting one.
He promised to keep all that the Father has given to Him. He rules in truth and mercies for He knows we are frail.

This brings us to His attributes as a Lamb. A lamb is very gentle, trusting and without guile.
Jesus Christ as a Lamb was slained for the forgiveness of the sins of the world. He was without guile, and no lie was found in His mouth, for He was blameless.
In the book of Revelation chapter number 14 He was revealed standing on Mount Zion as a Lamb with the 144,000 who where redeemed from the earth. Scriptures calls them first fruit unto God and to the Lamb.

Revelation 14:4-5
4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

They were like Jesus in character and in deed. They were not crafty but were harmless as lambs. It was therefore very proper that they be with Jesus, for they were like Him.
No wonder Jesus told us in Matthew 10:16 to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Doves are like lambs, they are guileless as lambs. The lamb and the dove are the animals used in representing Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
And if we must be like Jesus we must be bold as lions in our walk here on earth, guileless as lambs in our dealings with others and harmless as doves.

The Lord help us as we work to be more like the Lamb who stood on Mount Zion with the first fruit redeemed from mankind.

God bless. Peace…

Bible Quotes

Exodus 3:13-15 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
