The Name of the LORD

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous runs into it and is safe.
There is tremendous power in the name of Jesus Christ.
The name Jesus was given by the Father. The Angel Gabriel broke the news to Mary that she would have a Son though she knew no man and His name is to be called Jesus.
Luke 1:30-31 ASV
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. [31] And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
John the apostle further recorded Jesus praying for his disciples and asking the Father to protect them by the power of the Father’s Name, the same name the Father Himself gave him! This is indeed a mystery. The name Jesus belong to the Father, which He gave to the Son. No wonder Jesus said, all the Father has is His, and all He has was given by the Father!
And that he protected them while he was with them by the name given him by the Father.
John 17:11-12 NASB
I am no longer going to be in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, so that they may be one just as We are. [12] While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name, which You have given Me; and I guarded them, and not one of them perished except the son of destruction, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled.
Jesus first revealed the power of his name through the prayer He offered to the Father for his followers.
Like as we have in the world, the mere mention of some people’s names gives you access to some privileges here on earth. Their names are powerful; but the name of Jesus the Christ is much more powerful than any name that ever existed or will exist because the Father made it so.
At the mention of the name Jesus, every kneel in heaven and on earth bow. Demons screech when the name Jesus is mentioned.
Philippians 2:9-11 NIV
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, [10] that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, [11] and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
We can come into the Holy of Holies through the name and Person of Jesus Christ, ask the Father anything in the name of Jesus and when we are in trouble, we can call on the name of Jesus and we will be saved.
I have personally witnessed times without number the miraculous power in the Name of the Lord Jesus.
I have been saved from some very dire situations as I ran into the name of the Lord Jesus. This space will not be enough to tell my story about my experience of the Name of the Lord Jesus. As an evangelist, I have come across some very strange unexplained situations but as I called and hide in the Name given to us by the Lord (Jesus), I was saved miraculously.
When the Lord was to ascend to heaven He told his disciples to go preach the good news of God’s Kingdom to all nations, and that He will confirm His words with the miracles that would follow through the power of His name.
Mark 16:17-18 AMP
These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak in new tongues; [18] they will pick up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well."
The Church is lacking power today because many Church people are afraid to mention the name ‘Jesus’ because they don’t want to be stigmatized and just want to play safe and flow with the tide.
I have News for you - avoiding mentioning the name of Jesus also means you are gathered unto man or yourselves for Jesus said clearly that where two or three are gathered in His Name, He is there with them.
Matthew 18:18-20 NIV
"Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. [19] "Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. [20] For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."
By avoiding the name of Jesus we are also denying the world the manifestation of the children of God. Many that would have been save through experiencing God’s power are not because we are so afraid.
Romans 8:19 ERV
Everything that God made is waiting with excitement for the time when he will show the world who his children are. The whole world wants very much for that to happen.
I am aware persecution will come on account of the Name but we were told before hand that this would happen, even though we are in pains and groan now, the Lord who has promised to be with us will help us through it all.
As we wait patiently thanking Him for who He is and the things He has done, He will work things out for us.
Psalm 50:11-15 AMP
"I know every bird of the mountains, And everything that moves in the field is Mine. [12] "If I were hungry, I would not tell you, For the world and all it contains are Mine. [13] "Shall I eat the flesh of bulls Or drink the blood of male goats? [14] "Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving And pay your vows to the Most High; [15] Call on Me in the day of trouble; I will rescue you, and you shall honor and glorify Me."
We know who we believe and also know the power of His Name. The world will only know if we who believe in Him will go in His Name, and proclaim what He has done - His love for mankind. He gave them everything He has; His name, His authority and ultimately His Kingdom to be shared with those who believe; all these for nothing!
Freely He has given us, freely we also are commanded to give. The only thing He requires of us is, Faith!
Have faith in His Name and His Person - simple but also so hard.
No one gives like this except the Lord. Many says, something for something, but God says, nothing for everything - 100% percent here and life eternal in the world to come!
This for me is genuine proof of love.
John 3:16-18 NIV
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. [18] Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
The Lord is very gracious, He has given us all the information we need to make informed decision about the fate that awaits all men - Eternity.
Have you decided yet where you will spend it?
We have plans in place for the next 50 years, even a 100 years but have we planned for where to live or spend eternity?
Please think about it, it is so serious such that God’s Son has to die to secure you a place in His Kingdom. His death and resurrection is your Insurance on earth, and the Passport and Visa you need to enter His Kingdom; these will be brought about by the working of the Holy Spirit in the new birth experience (born of God); for flesh and blood cannot enter His Kingdom.
If you haven’t decided yet make that decision. You don’t need to say complicated prayers for He sees your heart.
Tell Him in your own words that you believe in Him and accept what He did for you, and now you have made Him Lord over you and will now live for Him through His Spirit in His Name, Jesus. Amen!
