Unashamed

Unashamed

2 Samuel 6:14-15 NIV

Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the LORD with all his might, [15] while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the LORD with shouts and the sound of trumpets.

King David so much revered God such that you see it in his actions and words. In his moments of trials, he trusted absolutely in the saving power of God such that he even refused to kill king Saul who was after his life because of his jealousy of him. David allowed God to avenge those who were after his life. His great exploits were as a result of his undivided trust and confidence in the God he believed in.

The Ark of God was captured when Isreal rebelled against God but it was returned when the hand of God was heavy on those who took the Ark. They returned the Ark by means of a cart to Isreal with sacrifice to appease the God of Isreal. The cart walked into the field of an Israelite named Joshua.

1 Samuel 6:14

The cart came into the field of Joshua of Beth-shemesh and stopped there. A great stone was there; and the men split up the wood of the cart and offered the cows as a burnt offering to the Lord.

The Ark was moved from Beth-shemesh to the house of Abinadab of Kiriath-jearim when seventy men of them fell before the Lord because they had looked into the Ark, and the Ark was in his house for a very long time. Abinadab son Eleazer was consecrated to tend to the Ark.

1 Samuel 7:1 SO THE men of Kiriath-jearim came and took the ark of the Lord and brought it into the house of Abinadab on the hill and consecrated Eleazar his son to have charge of the ark of the Lord.

When David came to the throne he thought to move the Ark to the city of David, and because they had not moved the Ark in the way God commanded them through Moses, Uzzah died before the Lord when he put forth his hand to steady the Ark as the cart they were conveying it in tripped.

Out of fear David had the Ark moved to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite. David was told God had blessed Obed-edom and his entire household, so he decided to have the Ark moved to the city of David with great rejoicing.

He danced before the God who has saved him from countless troubles and afflictions. David was so elated that he danced almost naked but unashamed before the Great God of Isreal, the Almighty and faithful God.

Someone was displeased with the way  king David danced before the God of all flesh and I was just wondering why? Why are we ashamed to identify with God?

This God is great, unequaled and unmatched with any - there is none like Him.

If we revere men to whom power and authority has been given, how much more should we reverentially worship Him who gives power and authority to the children of men! How much more should we make joyful noises and dance with great rejoicing before the Almighty?

The Lord promised to inhabits our praises when we worship Him with songs and rejoicing, a great privilege because, when His Presence appears there will be order in our lives. Every disjointed situation will align itself to the purpose of God.

God is worthy of all praises and worship because He created all things, and for His pleasure they exist. Life and death is in His hands. He determines the course of peoples and nations, whether we acknowledge this or not. All power is in His hands, yet He renders truth and justice to all men.

God is holy, great and powerful and we are truly unashamed to identify with this awe inspiring God.

God bless as you truly ponder on the greatness of this majestic God.

Peace.
