How Precious is the Gift of God to you

Remember when you first believed?
He was everything, and everything was Him.
Many of us served diligently and trusted His every word.
We went everywhere proclaiming Jesus who was crucified.
Of course we were mocked, laughed at and suffered great persecution on account of His name but we took it all with joy.
It was part of the price of being a follower of Jesus to be so treated. Jesus said so (Mark 10:30), only that no one knows the extent of that persecution.
Starting this journey of faith is important, but what is more important is completing it.
It becomes very fearful when one begins this journey, trusting in the finished work of Christ, and the power of the blood to cleanse from sin, and the gift of God's Spirit to empower and help us, and for one reason or the other turn their back on God, carrying on as if all is well when in ones heart of hearts we know our relationship with Him has taken on a back seat.
It doesn't start in a day, it is gradual and rarely noticed.
A desire at first, then it becomes a pursuit and then balloons into an obsession. An obsession that is so intense that we would do anything to have our desires met.
At this stage, all sense of reasoning is lost. The gentle voice and leading of the Holy Spirit is replaced with a loud and unrelenting voice to pursue and overtake by any means and how, including selling our consciences, and betraying the One who died in our place and those of the faith.
The bible have a name for it in the book of Hebrew the tenth chapter, the twenty nine verse;
It is called, trampling on the Son of God, and treating the blood of the covenant common and unholy, and insulting and having disdain for the Holy Spirit who brings God’s mercy to us.
This is very dangerous, and someone that has reached such a stage may have committed the unpardonable sin, which is the sin against the Holy Spirit of God.
When tempted no matter the huge price before you, to do that thing, betray innocent blood, give that advice or anything that will bring reproach to the name of Jesus and His Church; just remember, you may be treading on thin ice.
Before anything, remember the One who died for you, the Blood of the covenant and the Spirit sent to bring us mercy and help, and weigh it if this is worth that.
Ask, am I able to survive being pitched against God? Is the price worth it?
If this is done to me or my love ones, how would I take it?
Can I forfeit eternity in His Presence on account of this? Do I understand the full weight of the consequences of the sin against the Holy Spirit?
A believer who knows the truth and deliberately despise God's grace on account of God knows what is taking God's grace for granted and threading on very dangerous ground.
Judas Iscariot didn't see through the schemes he was being drawn into. He saw the 30 pieces of silver but didn't see his death attached to it.
Judas didn't see that he was by what he was doing going to pay a price that was far greater than what was promised him.
He was one of the twelve, a part of the inner circle of Jesus.
He knew most things about Jesus but yet, he was blinded by greed and never saw the dangerous game he was playing was going to cost him his life.
The end didn't justify the means for him, for he betrayed innocent blood for thirty pieces of silver, and Jesus said of him that would betray him that it would have been better if he had not been born. (Mark 14:21).
Count the cost before you commit.
