The magnanimous nature of God

The magnanimous nature of God

Posted on May 13th, 2022 by Redeemed

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest Matthew 11: 28. Faith is all that is needed to approach God.

The Almighty, is all knowing, all seeing and all present. He is awesome beyond description and dwells in un-approachable light, yet He resides in the hearts of men, and made our bodies his temple.

Anyone can relate with this God. You don’t need a long list of credentials to approach him and  have a father - child relationship and though his dwelling is glorious beyond description, he made it possible for anyone and everyone to approach through the covering, the glory found only in his son Jesus Christ.

I have heard comments such as,  ‘oh I don’t mind going to hell, after all a lot of my friends will be there, and we will have such a good time’, or ‘Heaven will be so boring, I would rather go to hell’……

Anytime I hear such comments I am truly alarmed, and my sincere prayers is, Father, please open such a one’s eyes to see just a glimpse of hell.

You can’t imagine what hell looks like. If you were to experience just a glimpse of it, you will be willing to trade all you have to escape it. If it weren’t so, Jesus the Messiah wouldn’t have come.

Jesus is God’s expression of his unmatched love for mankind, an escape to the default punishment that awaits all as a result of sin.

I experienced just a taste of how it meant to be lost eternally, but God’s grace made it possible for me to have a second chance at living a life that pleases him, and my life was never and will never be the same again. I speak from a position of one who has experienced how it felt to be damned and then be saved.

Lately, I was wondering how our values are exposed by our pursuits. We can claim to love God and do good to humanity but is this claim validated by our pursuits, which is a reflection of our values?

We go to our religious gatherings, carry out all the rituals and would not miss a program, but have no qualms destroying another, as long as we have what we want.

John 3:16 For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believed in him should not perish but have eternal life. The love of God is validated by His giving of His Son to take the place of mankind such that if you truly believe the provision of God in His Son, then you live - is as simple as that!

God is so magnanimous that He created man in His own image and likeness, and gave him authority to represent Him on earth. When you look at nature, you see his power of provision everywhere, everything mankind need to create anything already exist in its raw state. All we need is make it into a finished product of our choice.

There is nothing therefore that we posses that wasn’t given, everything we have was given, so there is no room for boasting. Revelation 4:11 put it nicely, ‘Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created’.

Blessed be the Lord who has shown mercy to us, and has called us sons and daughters, joint heirs with his Son.

God indeed is magnanimous!

You can accept Jesus right now if you will, by saying this prayer.

Father, in Jesus Christ name I pray.

You said in 1 John 1:9 that if we confess our sins, you are faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I am sorry and repent of all the sins I have committed. Wash me with the blood of your Son Jesus Christ, and make me whole. Write my name in the book of life and give me the power to live for you.

Thank you Father for it is done. Amen.
